Obituary

Vincent "Vinnie" Anthony Contreras III of Aurora, Colorado (formerly of Southern California) passed away after a prolonged battle with illness on Saturday, January 14th at the age of 44.

Vincent was born on the 21st of February 1978 to Julie Campos Contreras (Decunzo) and Vincent Anthony Contreras, Jr. in Altus, Oklahoma. He was raised and went to school in the San Fernando Valley in Southern California before moving to Aurora, Colorado with his family as a teenager.

He pursued a career in several fields, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Hope Charity and Food Bank and delivering food to hundreds of hungry people throughout Colorado. He also served as a maintenance worker and shift supervisor for some years before changing his career to work as an assistant(or a para) for school bus drivers. His calm, serious, and gentle demeanor made him loved by not only his colleagues but also the children which he provided a safe environment for.

However, his own most frequently noted accomplishment was his single fatherhood, under which he able to provide and love for his three children despite financial struggles and difficulties of practical importance.

Vincent was an animal lover and passionate about the plight of the Wolf. He always had desired to live in the wilderness and explore the tundra.

Vincent leaves behind his three children; Autumn Contreras(20), Jasmine Alasa Contreras(22), Sterling Contreras(27), his grandson, Antonius Vicente Contreras. and parents John and Julie Decunzo and Vincent and Carol Contreras. He also leaves behind his sisters, Ruby Contreras Nugent (m. Andrew Nugent), Angela Decunzo (m. Yolanda Roman, brothers Matthew Contreras, Michael Contreras, and Daniel Contreras as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who will miss his presence dearly.
