Velrice Perkins

Velrice Perkins was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was filled with love, strength, hard work, and family. Born on August 28, 1962, and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Velrice dedicated her life to caring for the people she loved and serving others.

She was the proud mother of three sons, Larry Perkins, Dion Perkins, and Maurice Perkins, and the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren who brought her great joy. Her family was her heart, and she never hesitated to love, encourage, help, or even fuss at them when she felt they needed it. Her love was genuine, her presence was strong, and her family always knew they mattered to her.

Velrice was a strong and hardworking woman who dedicated 21 years of her life to working in the healthcare field, where she cared for and served others with compassion and dedication. Her commitment to helping people was a reflection of the caring heart she carried throughout her life. She gave so much of herself to others and will be remembered for her loving heart, strong spirit, laughter, wisdom, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.

Velrice is survived by her three sons, Larry Perkins, Dion Perkins, and Maurice Perkins; her nine grandchildren; and her siblings, Walter Clay, Donald Clay, Larevina Perkins- Dickerson, David Perkins, Earl Perkins, Flossie Perkins, and Sheila Perkins, along with many other loving family members and friends.

Velrice departed this life on August 29, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 64th birthday. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we are grateful for the love, memories, laughter, and lessons she left behind.

She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. Her love will continue to live through her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched.

Her memory will forever be cherished, her love forever remembered, and her spirit forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
