Obituary

On May 11, 1972 Shonda Lyvette Davis was born in Denver, CO to the parents of Barabara Davis and Elder Frank Stepney. She was the first born in the family followed by siblings Keith D. Stepney and Sharees Stepney who shared many memorable moments in their youth. Shonda began her childhood education at Whitter Elementary.

Shonda enjoyed going to church with her favorite grandmother Supervisor Mother Margaret Moore. Where later she joined the Sunshine band with her favorite cousins Sharon and Tia Williams at Campbell Memorial C.O.G.I.C. Highly favored, she made friends easily, staying on 23rd and Humboldt she made longtime friends, Angela Stevenson, Keya Walker, Stacy Smith. Shonda had special bonds with her god-sisters LaWanda Edwards and Ronnika Jordan and god-brother Shawn Patton. She attended Grant Middle School. She was proud to be an East Angel, where she participating in track. Where she followed up to become a Montebello Warrior, she became longtime friends with Regenia Hopkins.

In 1989 Shonda met her life time partner James Buckman where later in August 13, 1994 they united in holy matrimony. To this union Shaniqua Buckman Moore, James Buckman Jr., Tierria Buckman were born. They remember their mother as a loving care protective soul. She took in all of her children's friends as her own, if they needed a place to stay, always made sure education was first, she had all the cousins especially Nunu and Jazzy over every weekend or week day. she had a smile that just lit up a
room no matter who you were she cared for you. Shonda had a heart of gold. Shonda admired being a nana not a day went by she was not without her grandchildren. In her free time driving down Colfax with her girls to look at the "Freaks and Fairies" or being on Facebook live being local news for the community. (If you know you know). She loved gossiping with her mother and finding about family history. Shonda had a special love for her favorite aunt Laura and Uncle Marcus Drake.

Due to Shonda being caring she began her career in child care working for Moore's Daycare work with her grandmother over 10year. She took her experiences and knowledge with her to proceed to work for Bev Little tots Learning Center for many years running as her own. Making memorable moments with her boss, clients, and co-workers.

She proceeded in death by her Father Elder Frank Stepney; her grandparents Supervisor Mother Margaret Moore and Pastor Herbert Moore, grandfather James H. Davis, Uncle Dale Davis, cousins Melikita and Tia Williams.

In the early morning of July 29,2024 Jesus came in and He took the pain anguish and all the unanswered questions of Shonda's gloom and exchanged them all for a glorified bodied. And those left to cherish her memories and mourn her loss include her loving and devoted husband, James Buckman Sr., mother Barbara Stepney, her two daughters, Shaniqua Buckman Moore, Tierria Buckman; her son James Buckman Jr. (Tajanae Young), her grandchildren, Za'Kyla Jones, Zalai'ya Clark, Ja'Mari Buckman
Brown, Jah'Mirr Buckman, Sem'Majh Buckman; Bonus grandchildren Zy'Kure Washington and Avi'onz Grimball; Siblings, Keith D. Stepney Sr. and Sharees Stepney;and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, cousins, relative and many friends.
