With an essence that was as radiant as a summer's day and a spirit as resilient as the Rocky Mountains she called home, Sheila Yvette Anderson began her new journey on May 12, 2024. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1964, Sheila's vibrant life was a testament to her charismatic personality, her uncanny ability to find humor in the ordinary, and her unwavering resilience in the face of life's challenges.
Sheila was an exceptional woman who filled the room with laughter and warmth. She was an accomplished Sales Associate at Century Link, where she cherished her colleagues and clients alike. But work was only one of the many stages on which Sheila shone. She was a lover of singing, dancing, and gardening—hobbies that reflected her spirited nature and zest for life. But most importantly, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who held her family close to her heart. Her love for her dog Dot and her grandchildren were some of the most cherished aspects of her life. To paraphrase Maya Angelou, Sheila was a woman who not only knew where she was going but also knew where she came from.
Sheila's journey has led her to join her father, Charles Rushing, and brother Paul Nelson, who preceded her in death.
Sheila leaves a legacy of love and laughter that is survived by her loving husband, Bruce Anderson, her caring mother, Uvon Mosley, and her adoring children, Taiwan and Ladarius Nelson, Chante McCrary, Tiara Nelson, Rica Rushing, and Derantae Cunningham. She is also remembered by her siblings, Joseph Nelson, Kevin Rushing, Bridget Nelson, and Brett Nelson, 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Sheila Anderson's life was a celebration of resilience, laughter, and unconditional love. It is a life that demands not our mourning but our gratefulness for having had the pleasure of knowing such a spirited soul. As we remember her, let us celebrate the life of this exceptional woman who has touched our lives so profoundly. Don't weep for Sheila, she just changed her address.
