Willie Eugene Walker, affectionately known as "Billy," was born on September 17, 1948, in Nowata, Oklahoma, and peacefully transitioned on June 30, 2025, in Aurora, Colorado.
Billy was a proud Sgt.in the U.S. Air Force, serving honorably in the Philippines. A devoted, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he lived a life of strength, generosity, and faith.
In 1954, the Walker family relocated to Denver, Colorado. Billy attended Columbine Elementary, Cole Middle School, and graduated from Manual High School—Home of the Thunderbolts. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served from 1969-1973. Upon returning home, Billy pursued a career as a professional golf caddie at City Park Golf Course and later as a district manager for the Rocky Mountain
Newspaper (Denver Post).
Billy met and married Stephanie Watkins in May of 1970, with whom he had three daughters: Misty, Tracy, and Jalonia. After their separation in 1977, he later met and married Marilyn Gore in August of 1979, and from that union came two children: Willie Jr. and Cicely. Billy and Marilyn remained married until his passing.
Billy had a deep love for golf, the holy scripture, and storytelling. He was known as the "favorite uncle" and was loved by many for his beautiful heart, wisdom, and loyalty. He is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn, his sister LaVonna, and his daughters Jalonia, Cicely (Allen), Tracy, and Misty; son Willie Jr., a host of grandkids, great- grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Edward, mother Mary Jean, siblings Donald, Melvin, Archie, Patricia, and Lee, his first wife Stephanie, and grandson Keith. His legacy will live on in every heart he touched.
