Obituary

Franklin Delano Johnson, born in Chicago, Illinois on November 4, 1940, to Kenneth and Ethel (both deceased). Frank attended and graduated from the school system in Chicago. Being a young teenager, Frank wanted to run the streets and be with his friends, but he was tasked with babysitting his younger sister Clara. He felt this was stopping him from experiencing his young adulthood and having fun.

Frank enlisted in the US Army in 1958 and retired in 1979 as a SFC/E7 from Ft. Riley Kansas. Moving to Denver, CO he worked various jobs with Coors, SElKO Construction, followed by 15 years with the US Postal Service where he was medically retired, Security Guard at Porter Hospital, Resource Officer at Central HS as well as the Dahlia Street Youth Center before he was finally granted 100% disability with the V.A. due to Agent Orange exposure that would eventually be the cause of his kidney and heart health problems.

Frank was a member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), The retired Enlistment Association (TREA), American Legion, Scorpio Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Breakfast Club Fitzimmons (FITZ) and the Gathering Place

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 23 years, Adele Schamber, and 6 children from a previous union: Yvette (husband Wilson); Frank (wife Debbie); Denitra; Valescia (husband Ricardo); LaNita; CedJuan (wife Ellie). He had 7 siblings.
