Obituary

Saul Webster Arrington Sr., affectionately known as Julio by loved ones, drew his last breath on October 15, 2024, just shy of his 64th birthday. Born on October 17, 1960, in Montgomery, AL, to the union of Lillian and Otis Arrington Sr., Saul was a humble yet adventurous soul with an insatiable curiosity and an unyielding zest for life. A generous man, Saul always had an open door and a ready smile for anyone lucky enough to cross his path. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Saul lived his life by this creed, exemplifying usefulness, honor, and compassion in every aspect of his life. Saul started his career at USPS.

Saul's adventurous spirit was reflected in his love for automobiles and racing. His passion for mechanics led him to acquire an array of automotive certifications, including a CDL and certification to work on diesel engines. He was indeed a self-taught scholar of the automotive world, generously sharing his knowledge with others. Saul's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own auto shop in Aurora, Colorado, after serving as a foreman at Denver's DIA International Airport. Despite his professional accomplishments, Saul remained a humble man, a "smooth operator" who cherished the simple joys of life. He loved cooking, Cajun spaghetti and BBQ being his favorite dishes, listening to music, and enjoying his favorite libations, McCormick Vodka and Natural Ice Beer. Saul was also an avid cyclist and motorcyclist, often seen riding across Denver. He loved his dogs Atlas, Griz, and Chulo; he took immense pleasure in caring for them.

Saul was a fan of the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed attending Bandimere Speedway and went every year with his family and friends.

Above all, Saul placed his family at the heart of his universe. He loved caring for his mother and was heartbroken when he no longer had the privilege of doing so.

He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Sr., his beloved wife, Carmen Arrington, his ex-wife, Latonia Churchill-Arrington, his daughter, Calista Caballero, his grandparents, Mamie Peacock-Croom, Carrie Francis-Arrington, Webster Benjamin Croom, Saul Arrington, and his brother Nathaniel (Rocky) Arrington.

He leaves behind his loving mother, Lillian Arrington; his children, Lamont Scott, Kaine Griffin-Alexander, Shaquana Arrington, Saul Arrington (Shauntae), Latisha Godfrey (Riley), Cody Arrington, and Shayla Anderson; his siblings, Otis Arrington Jr., Eileen Arrington, Marie Washington (Lorenzo), Lillie Arrington, Katherine Arrington, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Saul's devotion to his family and his nurturing spirit will forever be etched in their hearts.
