Royce Carsey Gibson was born January 17, 1965 in Lake Providence, La. He was the beloved son of Coral Nell Maddox and Samuel Kemp.

Royce transitioned from this life on Saturday December 21st. He was preceded in death by his mother Coral Nell Maddox and stepson Joshua Bynum.

Royce was educated in the Denver Colorado Public School System and afterwards enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he was Honorably Discharged.

After leaving the military, he moved to Illinois and lived there for several years. He left Illinois and decided to join his mother and 2 siblings in New Haven, CT. He worked there as a Manager of a shoe store in downtown New Haven and remained in Connecticut for only a few years before deciding to move back to Denver Colorado where he spent most of his childhood in the city that he loved. Royce owned his own successful janitorial business for a number of years.

He later decided to further his education by enrolling at the University of Colorado where he received his Masters Degree in Sociology, He also enjoyed working out in the gym which was truly one of his passions. He always enjoyed spending time with his cousins Tony and Mike Marshall, also residents of Colorado. Royce also worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator before going out on disability.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother Kenmooah Gibson, one sister Lenelah
Maddox, 3 Aunts, Alma Raye Herbert, Atlanta Hall, and Linda Faye Cage, 4 step children, Charles, La Aja, Laylin, and Londyn Bynum. 4 special cousins, Rodric Jackson, Robert Hall, Michael and Tony Marshall, one special friend Lenea Bynum, and a host of other cousins, relatives, and friends.
