Obituary

Rose Marie Armijo, of Denver, CO, 55, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, Aunt, and friend, passed away on February 5, 2024, at the University of Colorado Hospital, Aurora, CO after a short illness and sudden decline in health. Her untimely departure has left her family and friends profoundly saddened and her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her.
Born on January 5, 1969, in her cherished city of Denver, CO, Rose was the daughter of Ernestine Marie Armijo. She was fortunate to have been embraced by the love of her adopted mother, Ethel C McClain, who preceded her in death. Rose is survived by her siblings: Michale Armijo, Victor Gimer, Richard Hinds, and Frankie M. Cooper, and Randy O'Leary (Brother in-law) She is preceded in death by her siblings Annie O'Leary and AD Graham, and her brother in-law Herbert L. Cooper. Rose's legacy of love and strength lives on through her children: Frankie Cortez-Armijo, Steven Cornell McClain, and Anna Dashelle McClain, as well as her grandchild, Violet-Rose Marie Patton.
Rose's departure leaves a void in the lives of numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of family and friends, including Yvonne Gimer, Victor Gimer, Monique Salas, Ynesse Salas, Savanah Avila, Dominica Avila, Jordan Armijo, Joe Davis, AD Davis, and Ronnie and Ricky Davis, with Ronie Davis having preceded her in death.
Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply in her wide network of community. Rose was strong-willed and loving, she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, brave, and kind. She loved to boast about her confidant, daughter, and caregiver Frankie to anyone willing to listen.
Rose Attended Thrive Community Options Day Program. Rose's time at Thrive was marked by the warmth and closeness she shared with her many friends. She cherished her days there, surrounded by a supportive community that embraced her for who she was. Her presence brightened the halls, and her smile beamed every room, creating cherished memories for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rose's ability to form deep connections with others was evident in the bonds she forged during her time at Thrive. Her connections were a source of joy and comfort, and she treasured each and every one of them. The memories of her time at Thrive will remain a cherished part of Rose's legacy, a testament to the impact she had on those around her and the love she shared with her friends.
She will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them- and if you knew her, you knew it. She carried herself with dignity, strength, and full of love for everyone around her.
In the wake of Rose's passing, her absence is deeply felt, yet her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the beautiful soul she was.
