We remember and honor the life of the charismatic and loving Ronald Craig Brewer, affectionately known as Ronnie or to some as Moon Dogg or Brewski. Born on November 9, 1957, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Ronnie's journey was one of strength, resilience, and deep love for his family. His life, marked by an unwavering spirit and honesty, ended on April 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved him.
Ronnie was a beacon of light with a captivating charm. His straightforward nature and bold spirit were coupled with a sense of humor that brought laughter to every room he entered. He was a pillar of strength, a man who faced life's challenges head-on with courage and determination. He worked extensively in the construction business, taking pride in his work and showcasing his physical strength. His strong-willed nature was evident when he survived ten shotgun wounds in the 1990s, a testament to his boundless resilience. Despite the gradual impact on his eyesight, Ronnie never let adversity define him. Instead, he adapted intelligently, using technology to navigate the world around him, and even developing a humorous rapport with his digital assistant, Siri, whom he affectionately called "Sarah".
Grounded in his Baptist faith, Ronnie's relationship with God was personal and meaningful. As Proverbs 18:10 states, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe." Ronnie's strength was a testament to this verse, his life a symbol of unwavering faith and resilience. During his life's journey, he found joy in sports, particularly football and basketball, and cherished the moments spent with family and friends. His generous heart extended beyond his love for sports, as he was most passionate about loving and taking care of his family.
Survived by his children - Tila Burnett-Lundy (Willie Lundy), Arron Jackson, Brittaney Jackson, Devin Jackson, and Kenya Williams, Ronnie was a proud and devoted father. His love extended to his cherished grandchildren: Ayana Peoples, Anaya Peoples, Jaeda Jackson, Jaelen Jackson, Serenity Jackson, Kiyah Jackson, and King Cain. He is now reunited in eternal rest with his beloved grandson, Dionte' Peoples, and his parents, Mary Spencer and Jack Brewer Jr., who preceded him in death. Ronnie is also survived by his siblings Cathy Brewer, Tina Brewer, and Tony Brewer. His younger sister Alicia Brewer also preceded him in death. His enduring love and special bonds with the mothers of his children, Jewel Jackson and Starla Franklin, will forever be remembered.
Ronnie's life was a testament to survival, strength, laughter, and loyalty. His memory will persist as a source of inspiration for all who crossed his path. Rest in peace, Ronnie. Your strength and spirit will never be forgotten.
