Robert Lee Sigarst Jr. was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and proud man of quiet wisdom, passed away on May 1, 2026, to be with the Lord. Robert Lee Sigarst Jr. was born to the union of Robert Lee Sigarst Sr. and LueDella Kindred (Sigarst) on December 29, 1953. He was the second of six children, growing up in a close-knit family that helped shape the steady and grounded man so many came to know.
Known as Junior, June, Junebug, and The June, he carried his southern roots with him wherever he went. You could often find him in his signature cowboy hat or a Denver Broncos/Nuggets hat, worn not just as a style choice, but as a statement. He didn't need to say much to be noticed; the hat usually did the talking first.
Robert was truly "a man of few words," and had a heart of joy. Many who knew him will say he was the best to listen to. When he spoke, people paid attention because it meant something. And if he didn't say anything at all, well… that probably meant you should still be paying attention. One of his favorite sayings captured his mindset perfectly: "Let them run their mouth, while you run your business." And he lived that every day, unapologetically.
He had a deep love for Denver's professional sports teams and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. He wasn't shy about expressing himself on Facebook; whether they were winning big or testing his patience, he stayed loyal. Though those close to him might say his facial expressions/words/posts during the games told a whole story of their own.
He loved fishing, music (Maze and Frankie Beverly, Isley Brothers). Perhaps his favorite things to do was cook, and boy could he throw down! From beans and rice to spaghetti, to liver and onions. He loved spending time with his siblings, whether sitting on the porch or riding around with his brothers in their old school Cadillac. Some of his favorite times were going to Cheyenne Frontier Days, driving to Texas, hearing about the lives of his grandkids and attending the annual Family BBQ.
Robert was a family man. His love was steady, strong, and quietly unwavering, the kind you didn't have to question, because you could feel it. His love for his Mother and siblings was always on full display. He was a proud father to his three children: Robert Leon, Michael Lee, and Monique Nichole, and Pawpaw to 9 grandkids. And referred to as Pops by many others in their village.
Deeper than his love for sports, family, and friends is his love for the Lord. Many of you got the annual text/call to watch the 10 Commandments. He knew the Lord, he knew the word and he believed and preached about the 10 Commandments, and with that we know he is resting in the Lord's hands.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Sigarst Sr., his mother, Lue Della Brooks, his brothers, Prentice and Reggie, and his sister, Linda Thomas and a host of other loved ones.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his three children, sons Robert Leon Sigarst, Michael Lee (LaShawn) Sigarst, and daughter, 'baby girl' Monique Nichole (Cortlen) Johnson, Booo, Miiiike, Moniqueeeeee, mother of his children, Gwendolyn Young, his two Sisters, Nadine Sigarst, Sheila (Walter) Collins, nine grandchildren, Dorean, Jalen, Jeremiah, Miciah, Cortlen L., Tavion, SaNiya, Ayden, and Roman, along with a host of other village kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Do him the honor of watching the 10 Commandments and Ben Hur, and continue to celebrate with family!
