Obituary

Robert Epperson Jr. was born March 18, 1935 in Tennessee to Robert Charles Epperson and Marvene Epperson. Robert Jr. was one of thirteen children. He completed his early years of education in Madison County School District until he left home at an early age to work and moved to Chicago by himself.

Robert Jr. met Lessie in Chicago but moved to Denver, Colorado in 1966. They were later joined in holy matrimony. He was a hardworking husband and father to 5 children and 4 stepchildren. He worked many jobs in his life, but after working for more than 3o years, he retired from Safeway. Robert Jr. was the sole provider for his family so he worked hard and was frugal with his money. He had acquired the nickname "Po Rob" because of his frugal ways. He wasn't a man of many words but he loved his family.

A man of God, Robert Jr. attended the House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church. He enjoyed the wisdom and knowledge he gained while studying the Bible and the fellowship he shared with his church family. One of his favorite bible verses was Psalm 23:4. He loved music and was a part of a gospel group with some of his siblings, called The Faithful Gospel Singers. They recorded two albums and performed weekly at different churches and venues all over Colorado.

Robert Jr. spent his free time watching anything sports related. It was on majority of the time, even if he wasn't watching it. He also spent a lot of time on his front porch with his family and neighbors or working in his yard and tending to his garden when he had one. He had one of the best looking/ greenest lawn on the block.

He looked forward to visits with his family, especially the younger ones. On March 18, 2025, the Lord called Robert Jr. home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lessie; daughter, Sandra; stepson Lester "Lucky"; his parents; and all siblings except Canary, Willie Ed, and Ivory. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his sons, Robert Jr., Alex, Donald, Daniel; his step children, Norma, Loretta, Alonzo, and a significant number of grandchildren/great-grandchildren/great-great-grandchildren.
