Life began for Reeve Sias on December 20, 1946, in Welsh Louisiana. He was the fourth child born to Mary Thorne & Clarence Mitchell. He also was the only boy, so you know he was spoiled rotten! He had three older sisters, Clarice aka "Queen Bee" as Reeve would always call her, Nancy, Cora, and after he was born, his younger sister, Loradale.
Growing up, Reeve loved to read the newspaper, front to back, watch the news, play basketball, and hang out with the fellas. Of course, chasing the women because he was the "booger with the sugar" as he would always say. After graduating from Bephume High School, Reeve relocated to Colorado and lived with his sister, Cora, and brother-in-law, Johnnie.
While in Colorado, he met the love of his life, Juetta Matthews. Reeve and Juetta later joined together in marriage. To this union came two beautiful daughters, DeLisa Matthews and Katrina Mackey. As time went on Juetta and Reeve separated but never divorced. Reeve moved around to a couple of different states but always returned to Colorado, where his wife and kids were. Eventually, Juetta passed away and Reeve moved back to Colorado with his daughter, Katrina, and her children.
Reeve's perfect day after getting older would consist of getting up around 6am, cleaning the house, putting dinner on, turning on the news, and drinking some coffee. He would go outside to take a walk, and sometimes do some yard work. He could listen to the Blues, smoke his pipe, drink a beer or two, and call everyone on his cell phone to talk about nothing. He loved to see his great grandchildren and give them fruit out of his big Halloween bowl, but he couldn't go without arguing with that one grandchild, Tasha, on the daily, either.
Reeve's health started to decline, and God called him home on May 10, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, both his parents, three nephews, and two brothers-in-law.
He leaves to cherish his memories his two daughters, DeLisa Matthews of Virginia, and Katrina Mackey of Missouri; four grandchildren, Marcus Sias (Heather) of Colorado, Latasha Hill of Missouri, LaQuan Taylor-Matthews of Missouri, Tehlissa (DevonNaiye, Sr.) of Colorado; seventeen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clarice Bazile of Missouri, Nancy (Jesse) of Texas, Cora Wilson of Colorado, Loradale Smith of Colorado; three brothers-in-law, Joseph Matthews of Missouri, Don Matthews of Missouri, Payton Matthews of Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives, and friends.
Forever in our heart Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle.
