Obituary

Yvonne McCoy was born June 8, 1947, in Toledo Ohio, to Muryl Taylor who married Lewis Glenn the only father she knew and loved . Little did they know that a powerful soldier of the kingdom of heaven was placed down on earth. Yvonne McCoy had a journey befitting a woman of God.

Being raised in the church she was always aware of the power of God. At the age of 17 she was baptized. Her first role of ministry came when she served as the first African American Woman North East Denver Young Life Area Director. While she served for Young life she also attended Mount Gilead Baptist Church. She was given the opportunity to direct her first youth choir while she was there. No one could have imagined that, that moment would be the foundational structure for her soon to come, God fulfilled vision Voices Of Faith.

Voices Of Faith was started in 1986 after she fell in love with music, but also had a heart for young people in our world and her community. This passion and God sent plan created Voices Of Faith which lasted for 13 years. In her time with VOF she touched many young people who went on to become great soldiers of God.

Voices Of Faith came to end in 1995. This was because the lord had more plans for Yvonne. She was told by the lord to start a church. Although she trusted his judgment she was hesitant about taking the next step, but her faith led her to start Voices of Faith church. which later became The Redeemers Christian Fellowship. From the moment God told her to preach the Gospel she did and never stopped.

Through her ministerial journey she had many awards and accomplishments. Too many to name, but her accomplishments are truly shown through all those she touched, and lead to Christ in her life. In her journey she was blessed to travel to thirteen countries in Africa. She was named Choir Director of the Year. She was given her own day by Mayor of Denver Michael Hancock, and much more. She was a studious woman with both bachelors and masters degrees, although she was proud and honored to have these accomplishments she truly yearned for one thing.

On September 13, 2022 she went where she always wanted to be and prayed to see. The kingdom of her heavily farther. As she ascended her legacy continues through her two children Arica Quinn & Lewis Quinn (Deceased). Her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was a spiritual mother & grandmother to many. A spiritual guide to many across the nation and world.

On her way to the heavenly gates she did what God had designed her to do. That is ministry. Before she went she ministered to many and encouraged many to keep the faith and keep pursuing Christ. The last thing she wrote on her way to the king was "God's Timing Is Perfect". Her faith and her purpose are forever linked because surely Goodness and Mercy followed her all the days of her life.
