Obituary

Vermell Love was born on November 25, 1938 to John & Ruby Bell-Steadham in Nacogdoches, Texas. She was the youngest of 10 children. After caring for and the passing of her beloved father, she moved to Denver, CO in 1964.

She received Jesus Christ in her life in her late teens. But it was in Nacogdoches when she was a young girl, down the hill from the house that she was praying and praising God, and the spirit of God touched her, and when she got home, her father asked her "what happened to you!!?" The rest is history.

She worked many jobs to support her family, which also included 24yrs at May D&F department store. Talking about BIG EMPLOYEE DISCOUNTS, oh yeah. Her seasoned, southern style of cooking and baking was exquisite. But her Three Layer Pineapple Cake was the BOMB. I'm so sorry if you missed that cake. She had her own women's clothing boutique and food catering service, an entrepreneur at heart. She had a wonderful gift from God to sing and write gospel songs. Over the years, she recorded several CD's. In 2008 she attended the Gospel Music Workshop of America and two songs "New Mercies" & "I Bless Your Name Lord" were submitted, sang by Her & The Body of Christ Singers and accepted to the New Music Division of GMWA. In 2010 she released "He's Coming Soon" accompanied by her granddaughters and daughter-in-law.

She's always been a woman of wisdom, faith, dedication, love, and righteous living. A genuine concern for others and always willing to give her best or even her last to help someone. She raised her two sons in the church and is greatly thankful to the Lord that they have stayed with God.

In the early 70's she married Deacon Eddie Love Sr, who preceded her in death. He loved. her and was dedicated to helping along side of her. But when he would put an extra sandwich in his pocket or got fried chicken grease all over his clothes, she would definitely shake her head and say "Bro Love!".

Overseer Love is the founder of Shiloh Temple Church. She pastored from 1980 to December 2017. Then being led by God, handed the pastoral torch to her youngest son, Bishop James Steadham. The members of Shiloh Temple will miss her dearly, but we all know and can say, that if we miss heaven, it's not because of the lack of teaching or lifestyle that she lived.

Overseer played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Apostolic Pentecostal Fellowship of Churches, Inc. (APF). "Still Working it Out" Romans 12:9-13 is the theme she developed to help us remember there was always room for growth. She faithfully served as President of Executive Council, Board of Directors and Leadership Council. Her service to God first, and desire to "always do the right thing" exemplified her commitment, wisdom, knowledge and growth for APF.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons; Charles R. Steadham, James O. Steadham (Wanda Gail), Daughter-In-Law Gloria Smith-Love (Eddie Jr.); Eight Grandchildren Sharece Steadham, Tanesha Steadham (Koni), Osharae Steadham, O. Jamon Steadham (Julia), Eddie Love III, Erika Love-Gray (Eric), Tomiko Love, Sunsearay Jacobus (Ricky); Nine Great-Grandchildren Hailey Steadham, Leah Steadham, Deszane' Flowers-Bell (Xavier), Devon Derricks, Dakota Derricks, Zamikio Jacobus, Adonis Jacobus, Amarie Gray, Nevaeh Gray; One Great-great-grandson Isaiah Bell.
