Obituary

Myra Blackmon, known lovingly by her grandkids as Brown Brown and Koko, was a beacon of light in every room she entered. Born Myra Ann Brayshaw on July 25, 1971, in Denver, Colorado, she lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unforgettable sense of style. Myra was a woman of many talents and interests, which ranged from swimming to traveling, shopping, indulging in her love for different foods, and gambling in the hills. She was particularly passionate about creating memories with her cherished grandchildren, whether it was baking cookies, crafting, or making slime together. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Myra was one of those beautiful things; her generous spirit, loving heart, loyal nature, and compassionate soul were felt by all who knew her.

Myra was a Certified Nursing Assistant by trade and was recognized for her dedicated services with a state award, marking her as one of the best CNA's in Colorado. Her career in home health care spoke volumes about her innate kindness and her unwavering dedication to helping others. Despite her professional achievements, what mattered most to Myra was her family. She was a fiercely devoted wife to her husband, Tony Blackmon, and a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren. The love she had for her family was as expansive as the universe itself and as Maya Angelou once said, "I sustain myself with the love of family."

Myra's legacy is carried on by her loving husband Tony, her mother Geraldine Bailiff, her children Ceirra Brayshaw and Stephen Brayshaw, family member Angela Aguilera, her uncle Phillip Brayshaw, and her father-in-law Herbert Blackmon. She now joins in eternal rest her father Carl Dixon, grandmother Delores Brayshaw, grandfather Fred Brayshaw, and mother-in-law Joann Blackmon.

The family received friends for a private gathering on Monday, December 18, 2023, followed by a public viewing on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Harris Funeral Directors, located at 9722 East 16th Avenue, Aurora, Colorado, 80010. The celebration of Myra's exceptional life took place on the same day.
