Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roberta Earley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who left this world peacefully at the age of 106 on November 29, 2024. Roberta's vibrant spirit and captivating presence touched the lives of everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Born on December 28, 1917, to parents, Mother, Sarah Letichia Williams and Father, Robert Henry William Pry. Roberta was an avid reader, dedicating countless hours to indulging in mystery novels. Her love for literature was evident, as she managed to read every single mystery novel at the Denver Public Library—a testament to her insatiable curiosity and love of storytelling. Her favorite cozy chair will forever be a reminder of her adventures in the world of suspenseful tales.

For more than 20 years, Roberta worked lovingly within the Denver Public Schools system, where her remarkable culinary skills brought joy and nourishment to students and staff alike. Her homemade dishes, infused with love and a zest for life, became legendary, a forced smile amongst the everyday hustle of education. From holiday feasts to simple lunches, Roberta poured her heart into every meal, nurturing the bodies and souls of those around her.

Roberta's family was everything to her. As a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit cultivated a legacy of love that will continue through the generations. Whether reading stories aloud, sharing hearty laughs, or simply offering a warm embrace, Roberta built a family filled with cherished memories that will linger in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Roberta is survived by her loving children, Willa Mae Gilmore, Robert Gilmore, Carol James (Gilmore), Ronnie Herndon (Gilmore), Jerome Gilmore, James Earley, Mylendia Pankey (Earley) and John Earley. Roberta was proceeded in death by her two sons Rudy Gilmore and Andre Gilmore who will carry forward her kindness, laughter, and zest for life.

While her physical presence may be no longer amongst us, Roberta's spirit will forever remain alive in our hearts and memories. We will honor her legacy of love and kindness, remembering her warmth and passion for life, not just in our words, but in our actions.

Rest in peace, dear Roberta. Though you are gone from our sight, you will never be far from our hearts.
