Michele C. Brown (Quigley) peacefully passed away on March 17, 2023, in Aurora, CO at the age of
79. She grew up in Detroit and would tell stories of going to clubs and listing to the blues and Motown. In 2000 she moved to Denver to be closer to her son Pat and her grandchildren.
In 2008 she moved to Bailey, Colorado and loved the mountain life but hated the mountain driving and was known for flipping off reckless drivers. She was devoted to her animals, Bailey, Aspen, Bubba and Maggie Mae. She would spend her free time finding homes for rescued animals, didn't matter if it was a dog, cat, horse, donkey or goat. Michele loved listening to music and even when she wasn't able to have a conversation in her last weeks, she would remember song lyrics and sing along to the Temptations, Sam Cooke, BB King and Etta James. Music was so powerful to her.
During the past two years she was taken care of by her friends, Barbara Hammond, Frank Ponge and Agaitha Citizen.
She is survived by her brothers James Quigley and Michael Henderson, and her sisters, Joette Quigley, Ruthann Turner, Peggy Baratta, Terri Casady. Granddaughters, Christina (Hammond) Abeyta, Alexzandra Hammond and Grandson Jesse Hammond. Great grandchildren, Colin, Callie, Charli, Ellyis and Luxe and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James A Quigley and Joan Henderson, her sisters Janice Neifert and Laura Quigley and her son, Patrick Hammond.
She will be buried with her son this summer in a private ceremony.
