Michael was the oldest of eight children. The Sapp family relocated to Colorado Springs in 1963. Michael grew up in a religious home, worshiped, and learned many Biblical and Christians truths. Michael graduated from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs in June 1973. He was a decorated track and field athlete. Michael earned a full-ride track scholarship to the University of Colorado at Boulder. Michael made one of the best choices of his early life when he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated on May 5, 1975. His favorite quote was "KA Psi until the day I die." Michael would marry Dawn Woods-Sapp on Sunday, September 12, 2021. Their love conquered all. Dawn was truly an Angel sent by God to comfort and love Michael during his final years on earth. Dawn honored her vows and was committed to being a good wife, mother, friend, and companion. They did not have children together and they loved their five sons, one daughter and one Godson from previous relationships. Michael was studying to be a Jehovah's Witness. He attended meetings and practiced the word daily.
Michael worked in sales and business development in the insurance and telecommunications industry. He had the gift of the gab and loved humor. He was a lover of those from all walks of life and he cared for them with a rare passion not often found today. One of his greatest titles was Father. Michael loved his children unconditionally. He was an active father and grandfather who never missed a milestone or achievement. Michael was the father you would hear at football games yelling statements like, "That's my boy" or "Hear comes them Sapp Boys!" Some of his hobbies were morning reflections, core exercises, baseball, and fishing. A minister once asked. "What tribe are you all from?" It was a tribe called the "The Sapp's". A family
of men and women that were of great distinction and unparalleled. People are attracted by their demeanor.
