Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of McKinley F. Jones Jr., a charismatic and dedicated man whose infectious laughter, captivating stories, and unwavering love for his family defined his remarkable life. Born on August 14, 1937, in Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, McKinley, affectionately known as Mack or Sonny, lived an extraordinary life that touched countless individuals.

In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel," a sentiment that rings true when we remember our beloved McKinley. He was the heart and soul of every gathering, a testament to his innate charismatic charm and jovial spirit. His career as a Sheriff for the Denver Department of Corrections and at IBM as a Parts & Distribution Specialist reflected his dedication to serving his community and protecting those around him. A lover of fishing, gardening, traveling, and entertaining, McKinley had a zest for life that was truly inspiring. He was a devoted husband to his wife Alta for over 65 years, and was an incredible father, grandfather, brother, and son. McKinley was always present, reliable, and worked hard – values he held dear and passed on to his family.

McKinley is survived by his loving wife, Alta, his sons Anthony, and McKinley III, his daughters-in-law Lynn and Sharon, and his grandchildren: Lakeasha, Ashira, An'Drea, Emmy, Aleta, Carmen, Anthony Jr., Dwight Jr., Krystal, and Chasity. He is also survived by his sister Lilian McFall. In addition, he was survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons Marvin Jones, Dwight Davison, his daughter Valencia Roxanne Whitaker, and his parents McKinley and Lilian Jones.
