Obituary

Maurice Lavell Daniels, born on January 14, 1992, in Denver, Colorado, was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of many before his untimely departure on April 2, 2026. Known for his infectious laughter, Flash, as he loved being called, had a way of lighting up a room with his presence.

Maurice attended Columbine Elementary, Johnamess Elementary, Grove Middle School, and PSI Alternative School.

He was a beacon of joy and goodwill, living out the words of Mark Twain, who once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." Maurice applied this in every aspect of his life, always ready to take the initiative, whether in his work or personal life.
Maurice was an entrepreneur and started his own hat cleaning business. Maurice was never married but held a deep love for his family and friends. Maurice was the protector of his family and the glue that held everyone together. A light that will truly be missed

Maurice was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Carrie Davis, uncles Sheldon & Estphan Willis, and niece Danaeja.

His legacy of love, and light will be cherished by his parents Stephanie Butler and Maurice Daniels Sr, his son Nieem Daniels, siblings, Laniesha Butler, Latasha Butler, LeeOunda Butler, Marquise Daniels and Shaquille Wilburn, grandparents Earl and Dorothy Willis, 10 nieces and nephews, 6 great nieces and nephews as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Each of them played a pivotal role in shaping Maurice into the man we all knew and loved. He was a devoted son, a protective brother, and a loyal friend to many. Maurice was a hardworking individual who always took pride in his work. His resilience and determination were evident in everything he undertook. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Maurice embodied this quote, as he made a significant difference in the lives of those around him.
