Mary Louise Peebles, affectionately known as "Peaches," began her journey on January 17, 1955, in New Orleans, LA, born to proud parents Joseph and Mozell Carter. She was the youngest of 10 children. The family moved to Denver, CO, when Peaches was just a year old, and it was there that she began to make her marks on the Bingo card of life.
Throughout her journey, Peaches continued to mark her Bingo card of life with moments of joy, love, and faith. Each milestone was a number called, adding to the completion of her card. The first mark on her Bingo card was the completion of her educational journey within the Denver Public School District. After graduating, she added another mark by furthering her education at Emily Griffith Technical College, receiving CNA training.
The next mark on Peaches' Bingo card was when she met Thomas Peebles. They married on July 8, 1969, in Cheyenne, WY. Together, they filled two spots on their Bingo card with the births of their sons, Monteque and Adrian Peebles.
The milestone of Peaches' faith was an important mark on her Bingo card, positioning her closer to winning the ultimate prize. She dedicated her life to Christ as a teenager, getting baptized at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Henry Miles. In 2016, she rededicated her life to Christ at Remnant Rising Christian Ministry, under the care of her nephew Pastor Gerald J. Hayward. She was very active in Bible study and was called to serve in the Outreach Ministry.
While anticipating winning the game, Peaches used her culinary skills while working at Denver's famed Zona's and Capri Chicken in the historical Five Points. She also shared her talents at various other restaurants. She loved playing Bingo, solving word puzzles, playing cards, and spending time with her family, always bringing joy to those around her.
On February 19, 2025, Peaches reached the ultimate Bingo Hall in the sky, completing her Bingo card and shouting "Bingo!" for the last time, marking a life well-lived. She won the grand prize of eternal life and is resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Joseph and Mozell Carter; brothers Webb, James, and JB Jackson; sisters Fannie Mae Jackson, Geraldine Jackson-Rice, Darlene Bradshaw, Jeanette Mims, and Rosetta Morgan; and ex-husband Thomas Peebles.
Peaches leaves behind cherished memories with her two sons, Monteque and Adrian Peebles; sister Barbara (Leonard) Smith; grandchildren Roshonda Gertie, Dilantra Peebles, Daegiana Peebles, Diovanni Peebles, Dasherae Peebles, Alfonzo Nellis, and Lakim Peebles; and a host of great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
As we remember Peaches, let us embrace the joy and love she shared with everyone around her. Peaches leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
