Dr. Marie Annick Masela-Betu

Marie-Annick Masela Betu, a 54 years loving and respectable woman, departed this life on August 10, 2026, at 1:00 am at the Denver Health Hospital in Colorado. Dr. Marie-Annick Masela Betu was born on April 13, 1972, in Kolwezi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Isabelle Mwadi and Jean Kapenda.

Marie-Annick was a strict, quiet and insightful woman. Those who knew her jokingly used to call her Mrs. “Director of Discipline”. Maman Marie-Annick graduated from Ukueli High School in 1991 in Kolwezi and went straight to pursue her medical degree progressively at the University of Lubumbashi, University of Bukavu and University of Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo and gained a medical degree in 2001. Upon graduation, she secured a job at Clides Clinic as a Medical Doctor.

Marie-Annick did not only graduate from Medical School, but she also ultimately graduated from the most prestigious school in the world: THE SCHOOL OF GOD. She learned from the young age at God’s school that God so loved her (John 3:16) and that God had a plan for her (John 17:3). In that university, Marie-Annick further learned that she was a sinner and separated from God and that she needed to accept Jesus as her lord and savior. Finally, she made the most important decision of her life and received Jesus as her Savior and Lord in her heart. and had been living the life of a true Christian lady. She served at RALSTON CREEK CHURCH as a Sunday School Teacher.

On Friday June 28, 2002, she tied the knot with Jackson Bumba Vangu at the City Hall of the Commune of Kintambo in D.R. Congo. They have four children Adnex Bumba, Yam Bumba, Elfie Bumba, Shukrani Bumba (her daily friend).

Marie-Annick is survived by her husband Jackson Bumba Vangu, her four Kids, her mother Maman Isabelle Mwadi and brother Cedric, and sister Bebe, Bijou, and Packline.
