Richard Gregory Britner Jr. received his wings on October 21, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 7, 1931, in Manhattan, New York, to Richard Gregory Britner Sr. & Marie Caretti.
He is preceded in death by his parents Richard Britner Sr., Marie Ofria and step father Carmelo Ofria; & cousin John Cassone. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Roberta Britner; children Cathy (Jerry) Brigham, Richard Gregory (Jill) Britner III, & Gregory Britner, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren & many cherished family members and friends. Richard served in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a pilot. After retiring from the US Air Force he started a second career as a Federal Aviation Administration Inspector. He was with the FAA for 20+ years. He loved cooking, mechanics & building/fixing everything.
Spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, was priceless. His family described him as very wonderful, brilliant and compassionate, with a dry sense of humor. He was a tough guy but a teddy bear inside.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
