We are gathered here to remember and celebrate the life of Lester Binkley, affectionately known as Anthony. Born in Denver, Colorado on July 18, 1959 to Herman and Viola (Red) Binkley. He attended Denver Public Schools and later received his GED. Anthony has two sons Anthony (BooBoo) LaFrance Binkley and Michael Antwan Daniels with Mary Daniels Hooks. He was a simple and reserved man. Anthony's life was a testament to the power of resilience and the warmth of genuine connection. His captivating spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved will forever be remembered by those whose lives were touched by his light. His passing on September 27, 2024, leaves a void that cannot be filled.
Anthony was a dedicated Professional Care Worker for 24 years at Argus Home Health Care, where he cared deeply for his patients and their families. His compassion and empathy were the bedrock of his professional life, embodying the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Anthony's passions extended beyond his profession. A dedicated sports enthusiast, he loyally followed the Raiders through every twist and turn of the season. The joy he found in watching basketball, football, and wrestling was only surpassed by his love for spending time with family and friends. His spirit was a beacon of light that brought joy and laughter to every gathering.
Anthony had a deep love for music, with Chaka Khan being his favorite artist. His love for Chinese food, especially Shrimp Egg Foo Young, was well known among his circle. This, along with his unchanging loyalty to his Bud Ice beer, reflected his philosophy of life, "like what you like." He was known to joke about trying something new, but always stuck to his favorites. Anthony was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in constancy and familiarity. He is survived by his siblings Ruth Green, Marcelene Marshall; Lorretta Womack; Yvette Boyd, sister-in-love Gwendolyn Butts; son Michael Daniels, grandchildren Alisha Daniels, Antjuan Daniels and Anjahlek Daniels. great-grandchildren Flintt and Fonzo. Cousins Daniel Valdez and Ronald Valdez; Extended family he cared and loved and a host of nieces and nephews, who will forever hold dear the memories they created together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Viola Binkley, brothers Junior and Leo Binkley; and his son Anthony "BooBoo" Binkley.
