With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of LaNika Ruth Brown, who was born on July 6, 1990, in Roswell, NM, and passed away on September 12, 2024. LaNika was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and granddaughter, whose compassionate and loving nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
LaNika was a woman of many talents; she enjoyed cooking, drawing, taking pictures, and traveling. But mostly, she loved spending time with her loved ones. Her passion for life was beautifully reflected in the way she cherished her daughter, Amaya. LaNika's mantra, "always inform your loved ones how much you love them," serves as a testament to the depth of her love and the warmth of her heart. As stated in 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
LaNika is survived by her precious daughter, Amaya Flores, her loving mother Stephanie Brown, her sister LaDeana (Matthew) Mills, and her aunts Kenya Davis and Shanika (Alex) Anderson. She also leaves behind her uncles Jacob Davis, Joseph Davis, and Billy Davis, her grandparents Bill Davis and Eunnice Davis, and her cousins Isaac Horton, Abraham Davis, Elijah Davis, and Alex JR. LaNika will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews: Jayce Cabell, Juliana Mills, Carlo Mills, Aurora Mills, Nefertiti Mills, Gino Mills, and Mateo Mills. She was preceded in death by her father, Billy Brown.
