In Fort Worth, TX on September 19, 1955, H.L. and Ella Maxine Darden and their daughter, Francene, welcomed Kenneth Ray to their family. Later, they welcomed a daughter, whom they named Debra. After the marriage to Maxine was dissolved, H.L. married Hazel White with whom they welcomed an additional three children; Katrina, Gerald and Pam. Kenneth was raised by his paternal grandmother.
Kenneth's choice in what he called his parents was unique. He called his dad and his mothers by their first names; his paternal grandmother, he called "T-Roe" and his maternal grandmother, he called, "Ms.Kimble".
In 1974, Kenneth moved to Denver, CO, where he immediately found employment as a cook, a job that he maintained for many years. He was blessed with two beautiful children, Tiffany and Kenneth Jr.
Although he was not one to openly express affection, Kenneth's love for his family ran deep. This was evident in the fact that because he always had money, and he freely gave to his family members.
In earlier years, Kenneth was always active. However, years later, due to the development of health issues, he was forced to slow down.
Kenneth was preceded by death by his parents, his grandparents, and his son, Kenneth Jr. leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Tiffany, his grandchildren; Desmond, Dominick and Neveah, his sisters; Francene (Anthony) Alexander, and Debra Darden of Memphis, TN; Katrina ( Bishop Jerry) Demmer, Pamela (Elder Eric) Smith, and his brother, Pastor Gerald (Eileen) Darden, all of Denver, in addition to his aunts; Virginia Lloyd, Carolyn Lacy, Annette Shorts, all of Fort Worth, TX and Mary Sommerville of Akron, OH, and his devoted friend Cindy, numerous other relatives and friends.
