Obituary

Juanita Carothers, 80, received her wings on 04/11/2025 in Denver Co, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on March 20, 1945, to Mr. Charlie & Mrs. Helen Johnson in Madison, Mississippi.

After attending college, she relocated to E. St Louis IL where she attended Market Avenue Church of God and was employed with the National Personnel Records Center. She married in 1978 and relocated to Ft Rucker, Alabama where she was employed by the Department of Defense. She retired after 33 years of service.
Juanita was a beloved mother of two daughters, grandmother of 3 and great grandmother of 3. She always tried to instill strong values and religious beliefs in her family. Juanita's unwavering faith in God guided her life and her approach to motherhood. Family was everything to her, she especially enjoyed spending time with the great grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, particularly the Bible, and she was an avid sports watcher of football and basketball. She also enjoyed music. Her joyful, vibrant personality and strong faith in God made her a force to be reconned with.

Juanita was preceded in death by her mother and father Charlie and Helen Johnson, sisters Lena Johnson, Sara Mcbounds, Marion Mcgee, Evelyn Dickerson, Thelma Epps, Betty Jacobs and Christine McCellis; Also, brothers Charles Johnson, Patrick Johnson; and her nephew Geoffrey Jones.

She will be greatly missed and remembered by her 2 daughters, Phyllis Jones and Carmen Carothers; her siblings Barbara Vance, Dennis Johnson, and Paul Johnson; 3 grandchildren Sherieka, Jarelle, Bryan; 3 great grandchildren Amari, Bryce, Aydin, niece Kantresa Dickerson, great nephew Dallas Dickerson and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
