Jose "Chefi" Vicente Acosta Martinez, 52, sadly passed away on October 13th, 2023 following unexpected circumstances at Swedish Medical Center. He is the son of Berta del Carmen Martinez Acosta and Jose Alfredo Acosta, and was born in Metapan, El Salvador. He is preceded in death by his dear friend Juan Carlos Cuellar. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, mother, brothers, father, and many more in his family. He had many accomplishments in life after overcoming many childhood difficulties in El Salvador. He came to the United States as a young teenager with his mother Carmen, and his two younger brothers, Mario and Robert. After moving to California from El Salvador and only knowing how to speak Spanish, he learned English, went to John Marshall high school, put himself through college at California State University Northridge, and was the first in the family to graduate with a degree. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and soon after began his life with his wife, Gilma. They went on to have two beautiful children, Allyson and Jose. He also earned his real estate license along the way and helped many find their homes. He enjoyed playing soccer his entire life and was known for being one of the friendliest people, making friends literally everywhere he went. As an adult, he enjoyed going on walks, reading, and setting goals for himself and his future. He never let obstacles get in his way and persisted through the many challenges that life had to offer. Anyone who knew him knows that he was truly a great man. He was one of the most selfless people we have ever known. He always took care of those he loved and put their needs before his. He thought constantly of his wife and kids, and always worked hard to give them the opportunities that he never had. He was extremely intelligent, compassionate, had a great sense of humor, but above all, he was loving. He impacted everyone that he knew in the best way possible, and has taught us all how to be better people. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones and we are all blessed to have been a part of his life. He was truly one of a kind, and we are all better for having known him. He deserved the world. We ask that you please wear white to his funeral.

José "Chefi" Vicente Acosta Martínez, de 52 años, falleció tristemente el 13 de octubre de 2023 luego de circunstancias inesperadas en el Centro Médico Swedish. Es hijo de Berta del Carmen Martínez Acosta y José Alfredo Acosta, y nació en Metapán, El Salvador. Le antecede en la muerte su querido amigo Juan Carlos Cuellar. Le sobreviven su esposa, hija, hijo, madre, hermanos, padre y muchos más en su familia.
Tuvo muchos logros en la vida después de superar muchas dificultades de la niñez en El Salvador. Llegó a los Estados Unidos cuando era un joven adolescente con su madre Carmen y sus dos hermanos menores, Mario y Roberto. Después de mudarse a California desde El Salvador y solo saber hablar español, aprendió inglés, fue a la escuela secundaria John Marshall, estudió en la Universidad Estatal de California en Northridge y fue el primero de la familia en graduarse con un título. Se graduó con una licenciatura en Ingeniería Civil y poco después comenzó su vida con su esposa, Gilma. Luego tuvieron dos hermosos hijos, Allyson y José. También obtuvo su licencia de bienes raíces en el camino y ayudó a muchos a encontrar sus hogares. Disfrutó jugando fútbol toda su vida y era conocido por ser una de las personas más amigables, haciendo amigos literalmente donde quiera que fuera. De adulto, le gustaba salir a caminar, leer y fijarse metas para sí mismo y su futuro. Nunca dejó que los obstáculos se interpusieran en su camino y persistió a través de los muchos desafíos que la vida tenía para ofrecer.
Cualquiera que lo haya conocido sabe que fue realmente un gran hombre. Era una de las personas más desinteresadas que jamás hayamos conocido. Siempre cuidó de sus seres queridos y antepuso sus necesidades a las suyas. Pensaba constantemente en su esposa e hijos y siempre trabajaba duro para brindarles las oportunidades que él nunca tuvo. Era sumamente inteligente, compasivo, tenía un gran sentido del humor, pero sobre todo, era cariñoso. Impactó a todos los que conocía de la mejor manera posible y nos ha enseñado a todos cómo ser mejores personas. Sus seres queridos lo extrañarán profundamente y todos tenemos la suerte de haber sido parte de su vida. Él era verdaderamente único y todos somos mejores por haberlo conocido. Se merecía el mundo.
