John Allen Cuthbertson, 63, died January 17, 2025 of complications from esophageal cancer. John was born December 28, 1961 in Saint Anthony's Central Hospital, Denver, Colorado to parents John Bernard and Dolores Cuthbertson. John left behind a legacy of craftsmanship, adventure, and laughter.
John was a masterful carpenter and a highly skilled builder. His work was marked by precision and pride, reflecting a deep respect for the craft and an unwavering commitment to quality. He was an avid cyclist, hiker, and most any other outdoor activity. He had a wicked sense of humor and was quick with a joke or a clever remark. John was known for his amazing BBQ and smoker skills. He was a scientist with the grill! His niece remembers him as kind, thoughtful, and inclusive of her interests when he spent time with her and her brothers. When his father became quite ill, John moved into the home to help his mother. Following his father's death, John stayed and took care of his mother and her house until her death in 2019.
John is survived by eight siblings; David (and wife Tara), Mary Ellen (and husband Paul), Mike (and wife Betsy), Karen, Ann (and husband Hans), Paul, Teresa (and husband Roger), and Rob (and wife Michelle); nieces Rae Lynn (and husband Sam), Amelia, Isabel (and husband Logan), and Eleanor; nephews Geoffrey (and wife Reina), Michael, John, Samuel (and wife Paige), and Jack; and grand-nephew Hayden.
