Jerome Roderick Darby was born on December 3, 1984 in Denver, Colorado. He was
the first child born to the union of Jacqueline Mosley and Roderick Darby. Jerome has
one brother Jermaine Darby and two sisters Tiariah Darby and Kalere Hines. His
relationships with his siblings were unique and close to his heart. Jerome played a
significant role as a bridge builder in the family. He had a genuine interest in his siblings'
lives and well-being, always asking after them. His commitment to family unity was a
driving force in his life.
Jerome had exceptional athletic abilities from a young age. At the age of five, he
attended the Dardanos School of Gymnastics where he participated in many gymnastic
competitions, he was an outstanding tumbler for the floor exercise competition. Jerome
also played football for the Montbello Falcons at Maxwell Park and enjoyed roller
skating at Skate City, where he was known for his smooth skating skills. Jerome was an
accomplished basketball player and was part of the junior varsity team at Thomas
Jefferson High School. His coach recognized his potential to become a professional
basketball player in the future.
Jerome met and fell in love with Ember Dayspringfield, and together they welcomed
their daughter, Symira Darby into the world. While he was delighted to become a father,
he was also nervous and determined to be supportive and wanted to set a good example for
his daughter. From changing diapers to feeding to spending quality time with her,
Jerome was actively involved in Symira's life and attended her birthday parties while she
was growing up, she was the apple of his eye and he loved her dearly.
Jerome was a remarkable person who had a deep love and dedication to his loved ones
and friends. He possessed a unique voice and rapping style, but he preferred to work
behind the scenes, composing and producing music for other artists. Together with his
mother, Jerome collaborated and wrote a portion of the lyrics on a recording project for
a song titled "Peculiar People". Despite his many talents, his true love was music
engineering and production, and he aspired to attend Full Sail University to pursue his
passion.
Jerome loved sports, he was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets.
He also had a great sense of humor and a quick wit and people would find themselves
laughing when he was around.
Jerome began attending church at New Breath of Life Int'l Ministries under the
leadership of Bishop Gary Mosley to learn about God and eventually gave his life to
Christ. To strengthen his faith, he participated in Sunday School and bible studies.
Jerome will be greatly missed, his example of compassion and geniuness was truly
significant in many of our lives. Though he may be gone, his spirit will always be with us
to live each day spreading love wherever we go.
To mourn and cherish his memories, Jerome leaves behind his parents Roderick Darby
and Jacqueline Mosley, his brother Jermaine Darby, sisters Tiariah Darby and Kalere
Hines, daughter Symira Darby, Juanita Hairston, aunt and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
Thank the Lord for the time He has given us and blessed us with the gift of Jerome Roderick Darby.
We loved him very much, but God loved him most.
