Janet Orr Denette

Janet Orr Honegger Denette died on August 10, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on May 30, 1931, in Steger, Illinois.

Janet is remembered by her brother, Dennis Orr; her sons, Michael Honegger and Devin Denette; her grandchildren, Wesley Honegger, John Honegger, Justin Denette, Jordan Carver, Rebecca Honegger and her great grand children Xander Honegger, Sam Honegger, Mary Clarke, Jaiden Cleary, Baker Denette and Owen Carver. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elaine Honegger.

Janet was proud of her Scottish heritage and was a member of Clan Gregor. She and her brother, Dennis, participated in MacGregor gatherings, and for many years she helped staff the MacGregor booth at the Long’s Peak Gathering. These activities were an important part of her life and allowed her to remain closely connected to a heritage she valued deeply.

In her younger years, Janet enjoyed fishing and was known as an exemplary cook. The family around her would swear that her chicken noodle soup was the best cure to just about any illness. She took pleasure in the simple things that brought people together and was a steady and caring presence in the lives of her family and those around her.

Janet was a loving mother and grandmother who knew how to have a good time. No matter the occasion, she was always willing to open her home and host a gathering. Whether it was Thanksgiving dinner, a Halloween costume party, or a New Year's Eve celebration, family and friends alike knew that Janet was ready to welcome them, enjoy the occasion, and have a good time. Her home was a place where people could come together, share a meal, laugh, and make memories.

At Hope Methodist Church in Greenwood, Colorado, Janet was a devoted member of her church community. She was a member of the choir and, for many years, was responsible for the church's flower arrangements, generously sharing her time and service with others.

Janet will be remembered most for the love she shared with her family and the joy she brought to those around her. Her home was often a gathering place, her kitchen a place of comfort, and her presence a reason to celebrate. The memories she created with her family and friends will continue to be cherished for generations to come.

A memorial service will be held on August 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Hope Methodist Church, 5101 S. Dayton St., Greenwood, Colorado.
