Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the story of James Joshua Weddington is shared. Known to many as Josh, he was born on October 10, 1985, in Denver, Colorado. Though his life feels far too short, it was filled with love, laughter, and purpose.

James lived in Aurora, Colorado, where he worked as a Nurse. Caring for others was more than just his profession—it was who he was. He had a big heart and always put people first, whether they were his senior residents, his family, or even strangers. While he took great pride in his career, nothing ever mattered more to him than being a father to his daughters, Esseynce and Destynee.

His daughters were his whole world. He loved them with everything he had, and being their father was the role he cherished most. Some of the most meaningful memories were found in simple moments—spending time together, running errands like trips to Juicy Seafood, or simply being present and creating a sense of safety and love. He made sure his daughters always knew how important they were to him.

James was known for his early morning FaceTime calls and frequent trips to Costco. James was the life of the party. He lightened up every room he walked into. He loved checking in on everyone, asking about their plans, or calling simply to joke around and make people laugh. He also deeply cherished spending time with his grandma Pat, a relationship that meant so much to him. He had a way of lighting up every room he entered. He was funny, caring, and genuinely interested in the people he loved. Family meant everything to him, and he never missed an opportunity to show it.

James leaves behind his loving mother, Kathy; his daughters, Esseynce and Destynee; his sisters, Naomi and Christina; his brother Marcus; his niece and nephews, Zariah, Jeremiah, and Nehemiah; and his beloved grandma Pat. He is now reunited with his father, James Jones.

James will always be remembered as a loving father, a devoted son, a supportive brother, and a man who showed up wholeheartedly for the people he loved. His love, laughter, and strength live on through his family, and his memory will forever remain in their hearts.
