Jahaad Ali Washington, known affectionately as Jaboo, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Born on August 17, 1985, in Aurora, Colorado, Jahaad was a smart, talented, funny, and loving individual, who filled every room with an infectious energy.

Jahaad was a gifted musician and an avid video gamer, his talents extending into the world of basketball. His love for his family was paramount, with his deepest desire being for the younger members of his family, particularly his beloved son Jahaad II and his nieces, to lead lives free from struggle. The legacy of Jahaad's love will live on in these young hearts, a testament to his unwavering devotion to their well-being. As Maya Angelou said, "I sustain myself with the love of family." This was indeed the case for our dear Jahaad.

Jahaad's life was guided by the belief that people should be judged by their actions, not their appearance. This belief was a testament to his innate wisdom and compassion. He is survived by his loving mother, Gina Lucas; his siblings Monique (Julian) Davis, Justin Grant, Earl Grant, and Yusef Washington; his son, Jahaad II; and the mother of his son, Chuna Scaggs. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Washington.
