Iris Ann Underwood was born on July 26, 1956, in Denver, Colorado to her parents Juanita and Gerald E. Underwood. She was raised surrounded by her brothers Gerard E. and Gerome E. Underwood.
She was educated in the Denver Public School system. Iris attended Hallett Elementary School, Smiley Middle School, and she graduated from East High School in 1974. Iris also attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, Lavonne's Beauty Academy and received a Nurse's Aide Certificate from Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, Colorado.
Iris was a Senior Hair Stylist, and Hair Designer Specialist at JC Penny and Ultra. She loved working with children and was the Program Lead for the Kaleidoscope program in the Denver Public School System. She was responsible for the before and after-school care program for ages 5-12. She designed and created lessons, homework plans, and field trips.
Iris married Jimmy Davis and to this union Christopher J. Davis was born.
She met Paul Braddock in 2017 in Denver, Colorado and they later married on January 19, 2019.
Iris was a member of Heritage Christian Center (Hope City) for over 35 years. She and Paul Braddock were also members of Central Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado.
In her free time, Iris loved the outdoors. She went Outward Bound to Mexico. She was an avid hiker, rafter and horseback rider. Iris loved to shop and travel and was a member of the Club GirlTREK. To know Iris was to love her.
Iris Ann Underwood-Braddock departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on September 17, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her father Gerald E. Underwood and her brother Gerome E. Underwood.
Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include: her husband, Paul Braddock, her son, Christopher J. Davis, her mother Juanita Underwood, her brother Gerard E. Underwood (Rhoda Laverne Underwood), her nephew Gerred E. Underwood (Stephanie Underwood) and her niece Danielle Underwood. Also, a dedicated friend Dino Perry and a host of many relatives and friends.
A life that touched others goes on forever.
