Irene Theresa Cruz (Castro) was born August 11, 1938 in Brighton, Colorado. She died peacefully in her Denver home on February 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Cruz, whom she was married to for 58 plus years, and 3 of their sons Mark, Darrell, and Nathan Cruz. She leaves behind their other 2 sons Brian and Jeffrey Cruz, numerous siblings, nieces and nephews, several grandchildren, great grand children, great-great grandchildren and more family and loved ones. Irene was a very strong willed woman, with a great sense of humor, and a sweet & gentle side to her as well. She really enjoyed her rocky road ice cream with a good book, or one of her favorite movies.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
