Ms. Gloria Jean Love

Gloria Jean Love was born December 6, 1945, to Christine Grelean James and John Smith in Paris, TX. She was the oldest of 5 children. Her family moved to Denver in 1950 when she was five years old. She received Jesus Christ early in her life at 11 years old. She prided herself in receiving Jesus so early and has been running for the Lord ever since. She quickly found her purpose, spreading the love of Christ to all those who would hear. Receiving Christ early did not exempt her from life problems. But she always knew where her help came from- and made sure others knew where to turn in times of need. She spent most of her early years living with her grandmother, Arkie James, who taught her about the Lord. She often called her grandmother “Mom” because of their close relationship. Once she got older, Gloria and her mother Christine set out to find a home church. Starting under the leadership of Bishop Hollomond, they soon found out about the practice of keeping the Sabbath. Once hearing this news, they became members of Zion Temple under Bishop Roland Martin in the 1960s. After becoming members, they attended a church convention at Zion Temple where they met one of Gloria’s closest friends Billie Jane Biggins, who later married Gloria’s first cousin Horace Stacey Sr. Gloria and Billie spent many years together. So much, Gloria considered her as a sister. Both eventually had children of their own to continue their legacies in the Lord. Gloria became a member of Shiloh Temple in the 1980s, under the leadership of Overseer Vermell Love, who later married Gloria’s father-in-law. Shiloh Temple became the home church for all her children and grandchildren, and they continue to attend it to this day. She worked as a CNA for many private clients throughout her years and retired young. She spent her later years caring for her grandchildren, teaching them about the Lord. One thing she made sure they all knew was the Lord’s Prayer. She ensured her grandchildren learned how to pray and developed the ability to intercede on their own. She gave both her children and grandchildren the tools to serve the Lord. Gloria married Eddie Love Jr. on September 3rd, 1967, who preceded her in death. To this union, they had four beautiful children: Eddie III, Erika, Tomiko, and Sunsearay. Early on Gloria enjoyed music, often singing songs of Rance Allen, The Clark Sisters and The Winans. She would hear her youngest daughter Sunsearay singing around the house and eventually started working with all her daughters, teaching them how to sing and blend with harmony. At an early age, The Love Sisters, formally known as The Lovetts, began to sing all over Colorado while their older brother accompanied them on the drums. The music gene was passed down through her grandchildren; learning to sing, play the piano, and play the drums. Those left to cherish her memory include her four children Eddie III, Erika (Eric Gray), Tomiko, Sunsearay (Ricky Jacobus), 7 grandchildren: Deszane’ Flowers-Bell (Xavier), Zamiko Jacobus, Adonis Jacobus, Amarie Gray, Nevaeh Gray, Deveon Derricks, Dakota Derricks, 2 great-grandchildren: Isaiah Bell & Mayah Jacobus, one brother Melvin Smith, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
