Obituary

Gerri was born July 21st, 1966 in Los Angeles, California to the parents of Mildred Lamberth-Quintela and Frank Catching. In 1974 Gerri, her mother and four older siblings moved to Colorado. Gerri was educated in the Denver Public Schools system where she attended Kaiser Elementary, Cole Middle School and a T-bolt at Manuel High School. Gerri enjoyed sports and excelled in basketball as well as track and field. She ran with the Colorado High Flyers Track Club.

Gerri loved to laugh and was ready to crack a joke. She loved to cook because she was always ready to eat and made sure she had her "to go" plate at any BBQ or event. After high school Gerri furthered her education to become a medical assistant. Gerri was caring and made sure anyone she loved knew she had their back. Gerri was a pretty good dancer too! She loved dancing and listening to music, no matter the genre-country,gospel, blues, rap and hip hop. Gerri loved the song Ooouuu by Young M.A. Her energy was contagious. Gerri was the life of the party!

Gerri was a hardworker and was the "Boss" at any job she worked. Gerri raised two beautiful, strong daughters Erika and Victoria. She made sure they were fearless and strong. Often saying to them "stop crying, man up and do something about it." She loved her girls and bragged about them all the time.

Gerri loved family and to be her friend meant you were her family. She was the most supportive grandmother. She made sure her grandson's Julian and Andrew knew she was there at any game they played. They were mama's boys. Gerri was definitely "That Aunt" to her nieces and nephews, she was the true definition of a fighter and made it known.

Gerri is preceded in death by her father Frank Catching and her brother Victor Ware.

God called Gerri home on January 11th, 2022 in Aurora, Co. Gerri leaves behind to cherish her memory including her mother Mildred Lamberth-Quintela, sisters Natalie Ware, Linda(Brian) Colbert, Adrienne Mosley and Sandra Manlove. Daughters Erika Griffin and Victoria(Joey) Lynch. Grandsons Julian Griffin and Andrew Guyton. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
