Obituary

Gerald LaVon Wright, Jr. was born on May 11, 1996 to Gerald LaVon Wright, Sr. & Nicole
LaDawn Wright (Kelly), he was the 1 st born and oldest son to their union. When he was born
there were 21 family members in the delivery room! He made is grand arrival while we awaited
a girl (as told by an ultrasound) around 1:15pm on a Saturday, the day before Mother's Day and
after eight hours of not even labor but just pushing, He came in and shocked the entire delivery
room a Bouncing Baby Extra Manish Boy!!! From that moment he captured Every person's heart
and attention who he encountered. His heart was always filled with pure Joy and Love. His
heart had the capacity to love everyone as God does. He needed that same love in return from
those he encountered.
As a baby Gerald was always happy, and easy going, he was always smiling and never cried. He
quickly became a big brother at the age of two and a half years old with his "baby" sister
Gemariah NyAire. In the beginning he was unsure about the "baby" sister thing with all the
crying & stuff! Yet, the moment she was able to sit in her bouncy chair he was "Big Brother"
ready. He was so happy to be able to teach someone what he knew. Before long he was a Big
Brother of two, dad came in with Amon, and he loved his "baby" brother. He knew he had to
show him how to be tough and protect their sister. Before we knew it, he had grown friendships
with quite a few others starting from age four years old with his best friend Tylor and then many
others would come along that he would honor as a brother or sister love, with a loyalty and bond
in which blood could make them no closer. He learned about honor and loyalty very young and
stuck by that.
Gerald was beyond smart, he was brilliant, and he constantly pursued various ways to push
himself into accomplishing his goals, failure was not an option. In school he always excelled
above average in every class often in higher honors/AP or upper grade classes. He was athletic
and was successful in any sport he played, but he loved football most, playing for the Disciples
Football Team from peewee in pads at age 5 years old through eighth grade when he had to play
for the Pirates, he had a horrible season in his heart because he felt he had to switch teams and
he felt disloyal. He also played basketball for the Denver Hoopers and no matter the game he
constantly challenged himself to be the better version of himself in every situation he
encountered. He continued with football in the first semester of High school at Montbello, when
he decided he wanted to walk away from sports and figure out what life had to offer in every
way. Gerald was educated in the Denver Public Schools system where he received his high
school diploma in 2014 from Rite of Passage where he also received his OSHA training and
certification.
Gerald has always loved music and used to love singing and dancing all around. He would join
the school talent shows and no matter if he was by himself or in a group, he always wanted to
showcase his talent and let his name and his face be made know to all of those around him. By
the time he was in high school though his love for playing sports had diminished he never
stopped finding ways to grow within himself and find his purpose. He found that purpose
within his music. He began to write music and then developed his own music label Farasi Music
Label and to be known as Tre Ridah (TRC) and then later as Duff 3x. He planned to make a safe
haven for those who needed it and use music for their outlet to get through life. He made great
strides within his music career. Yet, living a life that is not designed for winning makes it hard
to accomplish goals intended for the future.
He finally had enough but did not know how to beat his bout with fighting demons, prescription
drugs, and a damaged heart and decided he would no longer continue to fight to live! He gave
his life to God as a child at nine years old by his belief, confession and baptism and immediately
began doing work for the Lord through discipleship and teaching others about God. At fourteen

years old Gerald helped host bible studies in his home and would have the house full of kids
eager to learn about God, he then led fourteen youth to Christ in that same year. He was a true
servant for God and a leader. His heart was entirely too big for this cold world. It was
unmatched and could not continue in pain, therefore he chose to leave this cold world to be
marked safe in the arms of our Lord where he may feel the direct and present love of God.
Gerald will be greatly Missed by many.
