Eric Dwoyne Johnson was born to Toni Gail Jonson in Denver, Colorado on January 16, 1964. Eric was an only child and the first grandchild to be born into a large loving family and had plenty of playmates. Like any kid, Eric love to dance. One of his favorite dances was the Pop Lock, he even had his own dance group. Growing up in the Denver area, Eric was a product of the Denver Public Schools where he attended school in the Mitchell and Park Hill communities. Eric was a proud graduate of East High School (East), Class of 1983 (Haloooo, halo halo, haloooo, halo halo), where he participated in ROTC, and ran on the track team. Many in the Park Hill community knew Eric including his childhood friends.
After graduation, Eric entered the workforce and was not afraid to get his hands dirty or shy away from hard work. He had a spirit to serve. In doing so, that led to an entrepreneurial spirit. He handed out flyers and business cards advertising his business of trash, snow removal, garage clean up, and various handy man jobs. However, Eric's profession was in hospitality. As a Banquet Server, he worked for many years at high-end hotels in the Stapleton and downtown Denver areas. No one could dress a dining room table like Eric (including fancy napkins), and he did not hesitate to tell you if your table was not dressed properly. Eric also had a giving spirit. He would leave work and navigate through the community (on his bicycle) and drop off sandwiches and cookies to his nieces and aunt then continue home and do the same. His act of giving saved many days of not having to cook. Later, Eric's skills led him in a new direction. However, you still could find him giving of his time and talents.
