Obituary

Elaine Roselle Langley Anderson was born on November 16, 1933, in Henderson, Kentucky. She was the eldest of six children born to the union of the late Catherine Hall Langley and John Ingram Langley. In 1946 when Elaine was 13 years old, the family moved from Henderson, Kentucky to Denver, Colorado after her father was honorably discharged from the US Navy. During the adjustments of moving to Denver and attending school, John and Catherine made sure their children Elaine, John, Joe, Jerry, Earl and Wanda lived in a home grounded in Christian values and they attended New Hope Baptist Church.

Elaine attended Denver Public Schools, Cole Junior High School and graduated from Manual High School in 1951. Following graduation, Elaine worked several years at the Denver Federal Center.

On June 30, 1957, Elaine was joined in holy matrimony to Waymon Anderson with whom she shared her life for forty nine years. During this time Waymon and Elaine were blessed with two wonderful children, Derric Anderson and Lori Deneen Anderson.

Elaine was a very caring and prayerful person. She had many requests by relatives and friends to say special prayers for them in their time of need. Her faith in God was very strong. She raised her children in the church and ensured they were well rounded in a solid Christian family.

One of Elaine's favorite pastimes was traveling. As a family they traveled via campers and motor homes to many areas of the country including Wyoming, Nebraska, Utah, and other states. While traveling they enjoyed fishing and camping along the way and her brothers John, Joseph and Earl would often go fishing with her family.

Elaine also loved cooking and participated in the church kitchen. She would often assist her mother catering parties and helped prepare food with her sister-in-law Mary Langley for New Hope Baptist Church. Eventually, Elaine and Mary Langley would cater parties throughout the Denver area.

Elaine is proceeded in death by her parents John and Catherine Langley, husband Waymon Anderson, daughter Lori Anderson, brothers John, Joseph and Earl Langley.

Her memory will be cherished by her brother Jerry Langley of Ashburn, VA; and sister Wanda (Johnny) Lydia; sister-in-laws Mary Langley, Alice Langley, Anna Langley, Canary Simpson, son Derric Anderson (Jerry), Flossmoor, IL, two granddaughters, Diane Anderson of Flossmoor, IL, Jessica Burnette's, of Chicago, IL, and four Grandsons, Hal (Mollie) Anderson of Denver, CO, Forrest (Dadriona )Anderson of Glendale Heights, IL, Jayden Mayfield of Nelles AFB, Nevada, Solomon Anderson of West Point, NY, and two great granddaughters, Nyailah Burnette, and Laileahna Burnette of Chicago, IL, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
