Dorothy was born on December 15, 1929 in Elmore City Oklahoma to James and Elmira Franklin, she was the ninth of fourteen children. She finished school in Oklahoma and moved to Denver as a young woman in her 20's. She worked for Aurora Presbyterian Hospital and retired after 44 years. She was also a member
of Mt Gilead Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board for many years. Dorothy made an impact on the lives of many people, she loved being around family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Linda Qualls, seven grandchildren, Antonette, Troy, Lashanda, Patrick, Aaron, Doug and Germal, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Also, three brothers, Willis (Mary) Franklin, Earl (Ernestine) Franklin, James (Jean) Franklin, and one sister Argrene Stevenson.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Lawrence Williams and Jerry Franklin and nine of her sibblings. Dorothy lived a blessed and full life, she will be deeply missed.
