Donald L. McFadden was born on June 22, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, to Lawrence and Gladys McFadden. He was the third child born, surrounded by his sisters Carolyn, Patricia, Shannon, and brother Brian. Donald graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Denver and later from Regis University in Denver, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems.
Donald started his career at age 18 with Colorado National Bank as a Mail Clerk and retired from Visa Plus Systems, Inc. as a Computer Programmer on June 23, 2017.
On March 3, 1990, Donald married his wife, Vickie. They created a blended family with their three children from previous unions: Khaile Piper, Brandon McFadden, and Jontae Piper. Donald was blessed with eight grandchildren: Kalaya, Tiana, Taleisha, Tyree, Cason, Ma`Leina, Ka`Tia, and Kai. Donald's heart was filled with joy spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.
Donald always said, "As we get older, we're in our end game. We need to do our best to enjoy the good things that life has to offer." He encouraged others to travel and relish times spent with friends and family (including work family), to look for humor every day, learn to laugh at the little things, and to enjoy good eats.
If you ever stopped by when Donald was grilling, he had a rib bone or chicken drumette in one hand and a Heineken in the other. He would say, "All I need is meat and beer...," then ask, "Can I get you one?" He enjoyed cooking and was always looking for a new recipe.
Donald enjoyed playing golf, thanks to his son Brandon, who introduced him to the game. They played together every chance they got. He also played on Wednesdays with his friend Greg and the fellas.
Donald truly delighted in his many Caribbean cruises with his wife and sisters to Barbados, St. Thomas, Antiqua, Grenada, St. Croix, and St. Kitts. He also enjoyed destination vacations with Vickie and close friends Greg and Sheri Wates to places like Hawaii, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and the Bahamas. Donald also enjoyed time with close friends and family, annually going to the Winter Park Jazz Festivals.
Donald was a connoisseur of fine Whiskey. He enjoyed tasting various blends and always shared a glass with his brother from another mother, Greg.
Donald's wish is that today we celebrate his life, a life well lived.
Your Life Was a Blessing
Your Memory a Treasure
You are Loved Beyond Words
