Obituary

Diane Rennia (Jefferson) Tapp was born July 1, 1951, in Victoria, Virginia. She was the second child of Linwood Jefferson (father) and Rena Batts Jefferson (mother). Diane Rennia graduated from Glen Rock High, Glen Rock, NJ in 1969. She attended Bergen County Nursing School and earned a certificate as a Licensed Professional Nurse (LPN). Two years ago, Diane Rennia retired from the profession she loved, nursing after a 50-year career. She helped nurse and heal many people when she worked in hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation places during her career.
​IN 1972 Diane Rennia and Edward Tapp were married July 15, 1972. This year, 2022, they celebrated their Golden 50-year Wedding Anniversary. Diane Rennia and Edward were blessed with two sons Anthony (Tony) Ian Tapp and Martin Randel Tapp. She was also the step-mom of Glen Tapp and Lorry Coleman.
​Traveling and cruising was one of Diane Rennia's love affairs. Edward and Rennia went on 11 cruises in the Caribbean and Central America. She also enjoyed road trips to see her family and friends who lived in the South, Virginia and North Carolina, plus New Jersey. Diane Rennia was an avid reader of novels, and her favorite author was Sidney Shelton. She was known for crocheting blankets and afghans and giving them away to family and friends as gifts. Cooking was another one of Rennia's passions and she made the best macaroni and cheese plus sweet potato pie.
​Diane Rennia loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The day she became a grandmother of her first grandchild, Trevaughn was one of the best and happiest days of her life.
​Diane Rennia is survived by her husband Edward and her two sons, Anthony and Martin.
Son Anthony (Tony) Tapp, wife is Elaine, their children are Taebien Tapp, Alicia Tapp, and Jessica Tapp. Trevaughn Tapp oldest son of Tony, has two daughters and is the father of Rennia's' great granddaughters Kelahni and Evaughni Tapp.
Other son, Martin (Marty) Tapp, wife Melissa, their children are Deandre and Amaya Tapp, Desean Tapp, Jay Tapp, and stepfather to Melissa's children.
Diane Rennia's stepchildren are Glen Tapp and Lorry Coleman. Glen Tapp's daughter is Ashley Tapp, grandchildren are Javel Tapp and Yvette Smith.
From Diane Rennia's family of origin she is survived by sister Barbara (Jefferson) Avent, brothers Clifford Jefferson, and Jonathan Jefferson and his son. Barbara's daughters are Tracey Avent and Nicole Avent-Henry. Tracey has two children Mustahfa Tilmon and Marquis Tilmon. Nicole Avent Henry husband is Neo, son Gerald Avent and daughter Natalia Henry. Rennia was preceded in death by her parents Rena Batts Jefferson, March 2011, and Linwood Jefferson, May 2022. Other sibling Rickey Jefferson, brother, is deceased over ten years. Rickeys daughter is Tiffnie Harper, her husband and their children.
