Essex White Jr. was born in Bosco, Louisiana on October 9, 1943. Essex was the fourth child born to the union of the late Essex White Sr. and Nola T White. He received his high school education from Union Central High School in Columbia, Louisiana. In 1963 he enlisted in the United States Navy. Mr. White was a very insightful man and father figure to many young children in the Denver Community.

Essex White Jr. was united in holy matrimony on December 19, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Carol White for over 50 years. Born to this union were Lisa, Thomas, Harold (Winky) and Yolonda. He accepted Christ at an early age. He moved his family from Chicago, Illinois in the early 1970's to the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado. After relocating, he became a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Bethesda Baptist Church, and Mount Moriah Baptist respectively. At the time of his passing, he was actively involved in church and held several positions within Greater Union Baptist Church. He gracefully taught Sunday school as a distinguished teacher, and He proudly served as an Usher on the Usher board. Essex has always been a willing servant to do whatever was necessary to spread the word of GOD. Coach White, as he has affectionately been referred to has been extremely active in the community of Denver for over 46 years.

Essex was a proud father, grandfather, friend, counselor, father figure, and mentor to all in need. From the early 80's to the mid 2000's, practically every kid in the Denver Metropolitan area was touched by the nurturing hands of brother Essex White. His strong faith in GOD is what made him a pillar in the community. Residing in Denver for over 50 years he was employed by Gates Rubber Company, Associated Grocers and Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream where he served in several managerial positions.

Essex was preceded in death by his wonderful wife Carol White. His parents Essex Sr. and Nola White, in-laws Wesley and Bessie Mae Johnson, brother Leophus Hawkins, sister Earnestine Green, Brother in Law Dan Johnson, sister in Law Rita and best friend Jessie Ward.

Essex White leaves behind his Offspring of Lisa, Thomas, Harold- Winky (Jade), and Yolonda (Brent). Grandkids: LaDre', Tiffany, Tyra, Tyrell, Elijah, Gabriel, and Nola. Great Grand Kids: Jaida, Lexington, Ezekiel and Ezekiah. God Children Sean, Sharee, and Stacy. Sister Essie Mae (Arthur), Brothers Joe (Carrie Lee ) , Harold (Pat), Charles and Issac. In-Laws Wesley (Shirley), Joann, Yvonne, Devale (Nancy) and a host of nieces and nephews and best friend Wayne Bainbridge.
