Catherine Jane Hakala, "Jane", was born October 6, 1934 to Bernard and Cecelia (O'Toole) McNamee in St. Louis, MO.

 When she was in high school a friend invited her to an event at Webster College, which resulted in a full ride scholarship for Jane. She received a B.S. in medical technology. 

While working at a hospital she met her future husband Joe. They were married for 65 years until his death in 2025. They had 7 children and 6 grand children.

 She was a devout Catholic and will be remembered for her love of babies, card games, bingo and gambling. 

Jane is preceded in death by her husband Joe, sons Bernie and Paul. She is survived by her children Kate (Dirk), Chuck (Katy), Mimi (Mac), Patty (Tim), and Jim, and her grandchildren Colin Turner, Alice Hakala, Maura Turner, Helen Threlkeld, George Hakala, Joey Threlkeld.
