Calvern Erroll Fugett, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on April 11th, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, resilience, and unwavering love.
Born on April 10, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late James Calvern Fugett and Thelma Grace Lewis-Fugett, and the brother of the late James Avery Fugett. Calvern's life was defined by his devotion to those he loved. He shared 66 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Arby Ann Fugett. Together they raised five children, and he was the proud father of two additional children. His vibrant family also includes eleven grandchildren. While his family celebrates his memory, he is reunited in peace with his son, Gaylon Fugett, and his grandson, Landy Donnell McNulty, who preceded him in death.
A true master of the chisel and stone, Calvern spent years as a skilled memorial artisan, dedicated to the craft of honoring others' legacies. His professional journey also included decades of service with Denver Housing, from which he eventually retired.
Calvern had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world and the joy of the moment. An avid traveler, he delighted in exploring the world and experiencing new cultures. Known as the best-dressed man in any room, he carried himself with an effortless style and a sharp sense of fashion. He was also a lover of music and movement; when the music started, he could truly "cut a rug," lighting up the dance floor with his spirit.
In addition to his global adventures, he was a passionate outdoorsman who found peace hunting and fishing in the Rocky Mountains. On game days, he could always be found cheering on his favorite team, the Denver Broncos.
Calvern leaves to mourn his loss his wife Arby Ann Fugett, children Madelyn Fugett, Ronald Fugett, Donald Fugett, and Delphia Fugett - Green, 11 grandchildren, and a host of extended family, and friends.
Calvern's kindness, strength, and flair created lasting memories that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of family, community, craftsmanship, and adventure will live on forever.
