It is written that when life begins, it is an open book with blank pages; each day that we live, our journey is recorded page by page until we depart our Life in the earthly realm and await our great getting-up morning, with our Father in Heaven. Anntonette Jones, affectionately known to her friends and family as "Tonie", was born on July 31st,1970 in Fairfax, VA. GOD, in his infinite wisdom, chose Jeffery Jones and Joan Jones to be her earthly parents. Tonie was the oldest of two children born to Jeffery and Joan. She was a loving, supportive, and protective big sister to her brother Jeffery Jones Jr until his untimely death.
Tonie was preceded in death by her father, Jeffery Jones, her brother Jeffery Jones Jr, and her precious daughter Amoi Stucking. Tonie and family moved to Berea, OH in 1980. Tonie attended Berea Middle School and Berea High School. While attending Berea Middle and High School, Tonie helped to create a 'Double Dutch Club'. She devoted many hours after school helping other students learn and practice a form of hopscotch, which the kids called Double Dutch. Tonie also participated in many talent shows while attending middle and High school. Her most famous and very popular act was a Lip sync to Janet Jacksons "Control", along with the choreography from the video. Tonie was extremely good at anything she put her talent and focus towards. Due to a major layoff at United Airlines, Tonie, Jeff and Mother Joan transferred to Denver, CO in 1985-86. Tonie graduated in Colorado from Overland High school in 1987.
In March 2014, Tonie was diagnosed with stage four Metastatic Breast Cancer. Being the conqueror that she was, Tonie knew exactly what she must do to persevere and preserve the life she envisioned for herself, and for her girls. After several months of aggressive treatment and surgery, she was able to re-engage in life with a level of normalcy and was blessed to sustain and keep her diagnosis in remission for seven wonderful years. Having overcome the most difficult experience of her life, it catapulted and sent her passion for Entrepreneurship into overdrive. Tonie refused to let her diagnosis damper her spirits or dim her light. After spending 20yrs working corporate jobs, she would eventually leave her 9-5 to pursue her real passion, which was the Beauty industry. She spent many years, across various salons, mastering her skills, building her clientele, and growing her Brand. After years of grinding and hard work, Tonie would become an amazing Esthetician and most sought-after, Master Brow Artist in the Denver metro area, with a thriving and growing clientele to prove it. In January 2022, she accomplished her ultimate Dream as the Owner and CEO of her very own store front location, which would become home to the 'The Brow Snob & Co'. Opening the doors to the new location, was a labor of Love, hard-work, and dedication. Her dream had finally come true, and she couldn't have been more grateful for those who helped her along the journey. During an interview with her close friend, Jonathan McMillan, she revealed that her greatest influence was her mother. When she needed her mother the most, Joan packed up and left Los Angeles to relocate to Denver and help her daughter thru what would be the most difficult days ahead. Her Mothers selfless act of unconditional Love, inspired Tonie to continue fighting for her Life, and for her dreams. Tonie embodied strength; overcoming great loss and living courageously thru it all. Although she was passionate about her baby 'The Brow Snob', her greatest accomplishment in life was being a loving Mother to three incredible daughters, Amoi, Amari and Aaliyah. The girls were her priority; she instilled morals & values, guidance, wisdom, determination, offered them Friendship, and unconditional LOVE and support thru every stage of their lives. She mirrored for them what being a strong woman of Faith entailed; to stand on principle, hold your head high and walk thru life with Gratitude and Thankfulness. She encouraged Amoi, Amari and Aaliyah to authentically be themselves; to dream and defy limitations no matter the circumstances. Another one of her proudest moments in life was becoming a grandmother to Amoi's daughter, Atlas. She loved bonding with Atlas, laughing and playing while rediscovering what it meant to endure the 'terrible twos' with a toddler in the house again. Being 'Mimi' to her granddaughter brought her so much JOY and Laughter, and she treasured their time together. Tonie loved all of her family; she looked forward to her trips back home to Virgnia to spend time with her sister and brother, and other family members. Tonie was an undercover comedian; she could make you laugh with her keen sense of humor. She was a naturally funny person, and blessed with an infectious personality that could warm your heart and instantly make you gravitate towards her. When blessed to be in her presence, you felt accepted, seen, supported, and loved. She never met a stranger and was fearlessly territorial of those closest to her. She loved to travel; one of her most memorable vacations was her trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico for her 50th birthday; she enjoyed roaming the city and taking in the culture of the Island. Also, in honor of her birthday, she took a leap of Faith and jumped (literally!) out of a moving plane during a skydiving session with an instructor. This was yet another example of how Tonie approached Life, fearlessly. She was a huge Prince fan and was blessed to visit "Paisley Park" to show homage to her favorite artist himself. She would often refer to her time there as an 'experience of a lifetime' and desperately wanted to go back. In her downtime, she loved to read, and binge watch her favorite shows. One of her favorite pastimes was watching old classic movies and all the other pop culture that she loved with her girls. She also enjoyed time with her closest friends, eating Mexican food and making memories that would sustain her when life was taking a toll on her mentally and physically. Tonie was a virtuous woman who enjoyed building other women up, particularly those fighting their own Cancer diagnosis. She was an advocate for Breast Cancer awareness; she poured her time, and knowledge into helping others actively manage their diagnosis, and celebrated with survivors. She was a trusted confidant, friend/turned sister to the women in her small inner circle. Tonie gave her life to Christ at an early age and was most recently a member of Denver Christian Bible Church, where her relationship with Christ deepened under the Pastoral leadership of John Moreland. She looked forward to taking her mother and girls to church, and fellowshipping with family and friends. Each time Tonie would suffer a setback with her health, members of the Leadership team would come to visit and pray with her and the family and offer their unwavering support. Tonie was so appreciative of her DCBC family. Soon after the devastating loss of her oldest daughter Amoi, Tonie's cancer reoccurred with a vengeance in the fall of 2022. Despite her best efforts to manage the disease and keep fighting, on November 8, 2023 at the tender age of 53, she departed this life for her eternal residence. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her mother, Joan Jones. Her loving daughters, Amari Stucking and Aaliyah Jones. Her granddaughter, Atlas Stucking. Her sister Ashley Snowden, and brother Stephen Jones, Aunts Eileen and Kathy Lyons, bonus son and daughter, Deontae Torain and Larece Rice, God-sisters Travis Torain and Andrea Simmons, a host of cousins, and bonus nieces and nephews who affectionately called her 'Auntie'. Tonie also leaves to cherish her memory, her closest of Friends who she considered Family and 'her Village'; her Brow Snob family, wide circle of Friends, business partners, and all others who Loved her dearly. In our humanity, it is natural to mourn the loss of Tonie's life; we all wanted more time with her. She fought to the very end, and she will be greatly and deeply missed by many! If she could leave us with her infinite wisdom, she would say something like: "Fix your Face..i.e Smile", Live your life without limits, be Fearless, Courageous, believe in yourself, Travel, Trust GOD and go conquer your wildest Dreams - - because that is exactly what I've done.
Our dearest Tonie will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.
