Annie Mae Berry, a charismatic, loving, and loyal woman of 81 years, peacefully departed this life on May 19, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. Born on October 14, 1944, in Jennings, LA, to Joseph and Mable Arceneaux. Annie was a beacon of love, joy and laughter to everyone around her. Annie had a knack for humor that could instantly light up a room. She spent her early years in Jennings, LA and Frankfurt, Germany, before moving to Colorado, where she spent the majority of her life. Annie was a CNA for many years; she worked at National Jewish Hospital for 17 years in the Supervisor Escort department. She then moved to St. Joseph Hospital, where she worked until she retired. She loved shopping, and cooking during the holidays for her family. Favorite dishes were sweet potato pie, cornbread dressing and her smothered okra.
Annie's light was an embodiment of unconditional love and dedication, especially towards her family. She raised her children—Kenneth Berry, Harold Berry, Rhonda Butler and Jonathan Berry in Colorado, instilling in them values of compassion, resilience, and integrity. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren were the
apple of her eye; their happiness was her ultimate joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Kenneth, grandson Robert, brothers Lawrence, John, Albert, and Peter, sisters Theresa, Mary and Maude.
Surviving Annie are her children, Harold Berry, Rhonda (Wayne) Butler, Jonathan (Christine) Berry, Patricia (Lonnie) Hampton, and Melonie Berry; her grandchildren, Tasha, Rayman, Jay, Jaque, Jae-R, Antonio, Terence, Breanna, Terrell, Kenneth Jr. and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her legacy is not only carried on by her family but also by the countless lives she touched with her vibrant personality and warm heart.
As we bid farewell to Annie, we celebrate her life and the precious memories she leaves behind. Her beautiful smile, her loving arms and wisdom were always welcomed when needed most.
