Aniyus Ricco Contreras, 16, of Aurora, Colorado passed away on Friday, July 23rd, 2021. Aniyus' family is shocked and deeply saddened by his loss which falls one day before the 10-year anniversary of his Fathers' equally tragic passing.

Aniyus was born on March 12th, 2005, to Kortney Mason and Ricco A Contreras Sr. in Aurora, Colorado at Aurora South Hospital. Aniyus was welcomed into this world by his big sisters Ariyaun Mason and Ohvion Contreras; his God mother Radonda DeLoach, God father Larry Jefferson and Grandparents Denise Mason and Charles Mathis. Aniyus would later be blessed with three younger brothers: Jivani (15), Ricco (15) and Jonah (14) Contreras, a little sister, Zia (7) and four amazing God-siblings Ky, Kira & Kacin DeLoach and Larry Jefferson Jr. Aniyus was baptized at New Hope Baptist Church by Reverend Eugene Downing alongside his mother, sister and grandmother.

Aniyus was a true Colorado native; he attended Altura Elementary (K-5) and while attending lost his father at the young age of 6. Aniyus went on to play a season for the Lions (his father's team) with his brothers Jivani and Ricco the fall of 2011 in his honor. Aniyus would then attend East Middle School for grades 6th-8th, where he formed amazing relationships with his peers and teachers before attending Hinkley for his 9th -11th grade years.

Aniyus loved football and just knew when he grew up he was going to be an Oregon Duck! His favorite color was orange and Trev Rich was his biggest inspiration. He was loyal to everyone that was loyal to him, and his smile would light up the room. He stood up for his siblings no matter what and he was definitely his fathers' child- all about the real. Aniyus was a son, a brother, a friend – Aniyus was DOPE AS FUCK!

His family and friends will miss him more than words can say.
